Hoagy Carmichael inducted into ASCAP Jazz Wall of Fame

On Monday, June 15, 2015 Hoagy Carmichael was inducted to ASCAP's Jazz Wall of Fame along with Henry Threadgill, George Wein, and Jelly Roll Morton. Acclaimed jazz vocalist and songwriter Lizz Wright was also honored, presented with the ASCAP Foundation Jazz Vanguard Award for her innovative music.
Hoagy Bix Carmichael attended on behalf of his father, and said "I just wish that Dad knew that people were still listening to and appreciating his music. He was a tunesmith and that's what he's left this field".
